Lodging

Q: What time is check-in and check-out?
A: Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. If you need an early check-in or late check-out, contact us in advance at 802.496.2322 and we’ll do our best to accommodate you depending on availability.

Q: Is breakfast included with my stay?
A: Yes — breakfast is available daily from 7:30 to 9:30 AM for all lodging guests.

Q: Do you allow pets?
A: We welcome well-behaved dogs in four of our rooms: the Hyde Away House, the Fireplace Room, and porch rooms M2 and M3. All four have direct outdoor access without passing through shared inn areas. There is a fee of $35 per dog per night. Dogs are not permitted in the inn, restaurant, or tavern unless they are a registered service animal. See our full pet policy for details.

Q: How many rooms do you have?
A: We have eight rooms in the inn plus the Hyde Away House, a private rental that sleeps up to six with two bedrooms, an open loft, full bath, and a fully equipped kitchen. Room types range from cozy doubles to suites, with options for couples, families, and groups. View all rooms and availability.

Q: Do you have Wi-Fi?
A: Yes, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the inn.

Q: Can you accommodate groups for lodging?
A: Yes — with twelve private rooms we can accommodate groups of 10 to 40 overnight guests. We’re a popular choice for ski trips, reunions, and corporate retreats. Contact us to discuss availability and group rates.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Cancellation up to 14 days prior to arrival, there is no charge. Within 14 days of arrival, one night’s lodging will be charged unless the room is re-booked. For cancellations on the day of arrival or no-shows, the full amount of the stay will be charged unless the room is re-booked in its entirety. Holiday reservations require 30 days notice.

Q: What are your restaurant hours?
A: We are open seven nights a week. The restaurant and tavern open at 4:00 PM and food is served until 10:00 PM. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram for any seasonal hours changes or holiday closures.

Q: Do I need a reservation for dinner?
A: Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and during ski season. Walkins are welcome (first come, first served). You can make a reservation online or call us at 802.496.2322.

Q: What type of food do you serve?
A: We serve New American cuisine made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients — including beef from Neill Farm and chicken from Misty Knoll Farms. The menu features hearty entrees, sandwiches, soups, salads, and appetizers, with gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and vegan options clearly marked. View the full menu.

Q: Do you have a full bar?
A: Yes — the Hyde Away Tavern has a full bar with a rotating selection of Vermont craft beers on tap, creative cocktails, and a wine list. We feature local Vermont brewers and change our tap selection seasonally. Join us for Taco Tuesday and $5 Draft Wednesday.

Q: Is the restaurant family-friendly?
A: Absolutely. We welcome well-behaved children in the dining room. There’s also a swing set and outdoor play area on the property for kids in warmer months.

Q: Do you have outdoor dining?
A: Yes — we have a seasonal outdoor deck and patio overlooking the pond. The full menu is available outdoors. Outdoor dining is weather-permitting and typically available from late spring through early fall.

Q: Where are you located?
A: We’re located at 1428 Mill Brook Road, Waitsfield, VT 05673 — in the heart of the Mad River Valley, near the villages of Waitsfield and Warren.

Q: How far are you from Sugarbush and Mad River Glen?
A: We’re 3.1 miles from Mad River Glen and 1.9 miles from Sugarbush Resort/Mt Ellen, and 4.9 miles from Sugarbush Resort/Lincoln Peak. — a short drive from both mountains. We’re a popular base for skiers and riders at both areas throughout the winter season.

Q: Is there parking on site?
A: Yes, free off-street parking is available on site. Motor coach parking is also available for groups. During peak winter weekends, we recommend arriving with extra time as the lot can fill up.

Q: How far is the Hyde Away from Burlington?
A: We’re 39.6 miles southeast of Burlington International Airport (BTV), Vermont — a 51-minute drive via Route 100 and I-89. BTV is the closest major airport.

Q: What size groups can you accommodate?
A: We can host events for groups of 20 to 120 guests across a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces, including our dining room, tavern, the silo, and a covered outdoor tent and patio. For overnight groups, we accommodate 10 to 40 guests across our twelve rooms.

Q: Do you host weddings and rehearsal dinners?
