Casual, comfy lodging with a rustic tavern and restaurant. Since 1987, we’ve been providing visitors and locals with a place to come home to. We love what we do and hope that comes across to everyone who walks through our doors. A variety of lodging options — all different — from spacious suites for couples and families to the retro ski dorm rooms over the bar.
Zach’s Tavern is a casual restaurant with a rustic pub offering the freshest ingredients, produced by local farmers, for creative and healthy fare. Mason jar cocktails with fresh squeezed juices, house-made cordials, and house-made ginger beer make interesting and tasty beverage offerings. We also have a great Wine List and micro-brews on tap featuring up-and-coming Vermont micro-brewers. A member of the Vermont Fresh Network, we serve food 7 nights from 4 pm until 10 pm offering the freshest ingredients, produced by local farmers.
Margaret and Bruce Hyde — and their amazing staff — have welcomed visitors since 1987. It has long been known as the place with a friendly, accommodating staff and a laid back ambiance that keeps people coming back, again and again. The Hyde Away is one of the few places in the Mad River Valley with lodging, restaurant and tavern under one roof. We love what we do and hope you will too!
So Much To Do In The Mad River Valley!
The seasons in the Mad River Valley are amazing. While the winter is best known for skiing, the other seasons are actually our favorites. The Waitsfield Farmers’ Market is held each Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm. It’s a great spot for food (we’re there!), crafts, local produce and live music. Hiking and trekking spots are abundant with the Long Trail, Mad River Path, Catamount Trail and back country roads. There are also swimming holes throughout the area — some well known like the Lareau Swimming Hole and Warren Falls and some not so well known — you’ll have to ask a local where they are.
